From the tree to your bed – the real story
Latex starts as a white sap extracted through small incisions in Hevea brasiliensis trees in tropical regions. Each tree produces latex for 20–25 years without being damaged, while absorbing CO₂ throughout its life – rubber plantations act as natural carbon sinks. But when we say organic, we’re talking about a completely different level.
GOLS certification (Global Organic Latex Standard) means:
- Cultivation without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides
- Fair working conditions & respect for local communities
- Clean processing with no toxic waste or hazardous additives
Combine that with FSC (responsible forest management), OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (Class 1 – the strictest level, suitable even for babies) and eco-INSTITUT (testing for volatile organic compounds – VOCs, chlorophenols, heavy metals, formaldehyde etc.) and you have a material that has passed the world’s most rigorous filters. It’s not just “clean” – it has been tested and proven not to release anything harmful into the air of your bedroom.
How it actually feels when you sleep on it
- Cool all year round → The open cell structure (usually 600+ micropores per 100 cm²) allows air to circulate freely. You don’t suffocate like you do on cheap synthetic polyurethane mattresses and pillows. Ideal for people who sweat in summer or experience hot flashes.
- Support without sinking → It gently conforms to the body but has a light bounce-back. Your spine stays in natural alignment, meaning fewer back/neck pains in the morning.

A high-quality 100% organic latex mattress lasts 8–10 years without significantly losing elasticity or support. By comparison, many conventional mattresses start sagging after 4–6 years. So even if the initial investment is higher, you sleep better and come out ahead in the long run.
Unfortunately, the market is flooded with mattress materials labeled as “Latex” that contain zero natural rubber, no mention of country of origin, and zero certifications. Brightly colored foams (FOAM) with no certification at all, blends made from petroleum and toxic chemicals. Felt layers made from recycled rags of unknown origin.
Reliable producers/sellers show you current certificates – including the GOLS for 100% organic latex. If they hesitate or say “it’s not necessary”, better look elsewhere.
A small, realistic promise. We won’t tell you that you’ll sleep “like a baby” from the very first night or that all your problems will disappear.
But if you already pay attention to organic food, natural cosmetics, and the air you breathe, then sleeping on a material that respects both your body and the planet is the natural next step. In selected products we use 100% percale cotton 200-233 threads. Cotton is a natural plant fiber suitable for spinning and fabric manufacturing. The advantages of cotton are its ability to absorb moisture and its good behavior in temperature changes. Cotton fabrics are healthy and "breathable".
